This article applies to South-Tek Systems industrial N2GEN-FLEX series PSA nitrogen generators.
The N2GEN-FLEX series generators are designed to produce nitrogen on demand using Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology. These skid-mounted systems include multiple sieve beds with manifolds, a control cabinet, and depending on the model, a nitrogen tank mounted on the skid. The system is designed to reduce unnecessary air consumption during low demand by entering standby mode, and it can automatically discharge low-purity tank gas when purity does not meet the required threshold.
Who this article is for
This content is intended for installers, equipment operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisory staff responsible for the installation, operation, and upkeep of the system.
How the system works
N2GEN-FLEX generators use carbon molecular sieve (CMS) and alternating adsorption beds to separate nitrogen from compressed air. Clean, dry compressed air enters the system, and the generator produces nitrogen for the connected process or storage tank based on the programmed operating logic. Depending on system settings, the generator can enter standby based on tank pressure or flow demand.

Before you begin
Before operating the generator, review the site requirements, installation guidance, startup procedures, safety information, and maintenance requirements for your specific system. The unit should be installed by trained personnel in a properly ventilated area. The installation site should be no more than 5° off level and should provide at least 3 feet of clearance on all sides for maintenance access.
All N2GEN-FLEX units include either a virtual startup or an on-site startup. Contact South-Tek Systems to schedule this startup before operating the system for the first time. Do not adjust valves, regulators, or PLC settings without consulting South-Tek Systems.
Preventive maintenance and replacement parts
N2GEN-FLEX systems use a standard filter kit and standard preventive maintenance parts schedule by model family. For standard filter kits and routine preventive maintenance parts requests, serial number is not required. Provide the model and the maintenance year or cycle needed when requesting parts.
The preventive maintenance schedule is organized by year, and the cycle repeats after Year 5.
