This article applies to South-Tek Systems industrial N2GEN-FLEX series PSA nitrogen generators.
This article outlines basic receiving, unpacking, and short-term storage guidance for N2GEN-FLEX systems before installation and startup.
Before delivery
Before the system arrives, confirm that the site has appropriate equipment available to safely unload and move the skid. Because N2GEN-FLEX systems are shipped as skid-mounted assemblies, unloading and unpacking should only be performed by personnel familiar with proper rigging and material handling practices.
Receiving inspection
When the shipment arrives, inspect the crate and all visible packaging for signs of shipping damage before accepting delivery.
- Check the crate for visible impact damage, broken boards, or shifting.
- Inspect for signs that the skid may have been mishandled during transit.
- If there is significant damage to the shipping materials, note it on the bill of lading before signing.
- Report any damage concerns to the carrier and to South-Tek Systems as soon as possible.
How the system is shipped
The N2GEN-FLEX nitrogen generation system is shipped bolted inside a wooden crate. Use care during unloading and unpacking to avoid damage to the skid, cabinet, piping, and mounted components.
Unpacking procedure
- Move the crated system to a safe unpacking area.
- Remove the door panel at the end of the crate assembly.
- Remove the four bolts from each corner of the skid.
- Use a forklift or similar material handling equipment to remove the assembly from the crate.
- After removal from the crate, inspect the system for any visible signs of shipping damage.
Post-unpacking inspection
Once the system is out of the crate, inspect the unit before moving it into final position.
- Check the control cabinet for visible dents or damage.
- Inspect piping, fittings, and mounted components for signs of impact.
- Look for loose parts or obvious shipping-related issues.
- Report any findings to the carrier or South-Tek Systems’ service department.
Short-term storage before installation
If the system will not be installed immediately after delivery, keep it in a clean, dry, protected area and prevent unnecessary exposure to dust, debris, moisture, or physical damage.
- Store the unit indoors whenever possible.
- Keep the system protected from impact or accidental contact.
- Do not place items on top of the cabinet, skid, or mounted components.
- If the unit remains crated until installation, keep the crate intact and stable until it is ready to be unpacked.
- If the unit has already been unpacked, store it on a stable, level surface in a clean area.
Before installation
Before moving the system into final position, confirm that the installation site is ready and meets all published site and utility requirements.
- Ensure the site is clean, dry, and reasonably clear of dust and debris.
- Ensure the installation area is properly ventilated.
- Ensure the final installed position is no more than 5° off level.
- Allow at least 3 feet of clearance on all sides for maintenance access.
Important reminder
All N2GEN-FLEX units include either a virtual startup or an on-site startup. Customers should contact South-Tek Systems to schedule this startup before operating the system for the first time.
