Proper site preparation is required to ensure safe operation, maintain system performance, and allow access for service. Before startup, confirm that the installation area, electrical supply, compressed air supply, and utility connections meet the requirements below.
Installation environment
- Install the system indoors in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area.
- Ambient operating temperature must remain between 40°F and 90°F (4.44°C to 32.2°C).
- Performance derating applies at temperatures above 90°F.
- The skid must be installed no more than 5° off level.
- The area should be reasonably clear of dust and debris.
- Maintain at least 3 feet of clearance on all sides of the skid for service and maintenance access.
System footprint and weight
Confirm the installation area can accommodate the system footprint, doorway access, and floor loading before delivery.
- Cabinet and skid dimensions: 68 × 30 × 70 inches (L × W × H). The compact design passes through a standard 36-inch doorway.
- Integrated nitrogen storage tank: 60 gallon (skid-mounted) on the 4TS, 6TS, and 8TS; 120 gallon (floor-mounted) on the 10S, 12S, and 14S.

- Maximum current draw: 2.1A
- Electrical connections should be reviewed and completed by an electrician authorized to work in the installation jurisdiction.
Compressed air requirements
Air quality
- Compressed air supplied to the generator must comply with ISO 8573-1, Class 1.4.1.
- Air quality, pressure stability, and proper upstream treatment are critical to generator performance and long-term component life.
Air demand
Air consumption depends on the target nitrogen purity: higher purity requires more air per unit of nitrogen. The values below are the average required air flow (SCFM) at the reference condition of 100 PSIG inlet air pressure and 90°F inlet air temperature.

Air flow is an average and may vary about ±10% during operation. For a quick range, the minimum-to-maximum air flow spans the 99.999% column (lowest) to the 95% column (highest) for each model.
Correction for site conditions
The air demand and nitrogen output values are rated at 100 PSIG inlet pressure and 90°F inlet air temperature. A PSA generator performs better at higher inlet pressure and derates at higher inlet air temperature. Apply the correction factors below when site conditions differ from the reference.

Sizing the air supply
A typical supply arrangement includes:
- An air compressor sized to the average air demand at your target purity, with headroom.
- An air receiver sized to buffer the cyclic peak draw (see the peak air note above).
- A dryer that meets the ISO 8573-1 Class 4 dew point.
- Supply piping at least the inlet size, clean and free of debris, kept as short and direct as practical.
Mounting and placement
- The generator is skid mounted and should be placed on a suitable flat surface capable of supporting the system.
- Bolt holes are included on the bottom of the skid if anchoring is desired.
- Floor mounting is optional unless required by site-specific conditions or local code.
Utility connections
Confirm connection locations and orientations before final placement. Refer to the model detail drawing included with the system documentation for exact layout and connection locations.

- Compressed air inlet: 0.75" NPT female
- Nitrogen outlet: 0.5" NPT female
- Condensate drain: 0.25" OD connection
On floor-mounted configurations with the 120-gallon nitrogen storage tank, additional tank connections may be present based on the model configuration.
- Verify utility connections are complete and leak free.
- Verify the electrical supply matches the system requirements.
- Confirm the installation area meets clearance and ventilation requirements.
- Confirm incoming compressed air meets the required quality specification.
- Schedule virtual training or on-site commissioning with South-Tek Systems prior to operation.
