This article applies to South-Tek Systems N2-BLAST FPS-10000, FPS-16500, and FPS-22500 fire protection nitrogen generators.
The FPS-10000, FPS-16500, and FPS-22500 are large fire protection nitrogen generators designed to introduce nitrogen into dry and pre-action sprinkler piping to help reduce corrosion. These models are part of the South-Tek N2-BLAST product family and are intended specifically for fire protection applications.
Supported models
- FPS-10000
- FPS-16500
- FPS-22500
What these systems have in common
The FPS-10000, FPS-16500, and FPS-22500 share the same general operating platform and control structure.
- Large cabinet-style fire protection nitrogen generator design
- PLC-based controls with touchscreen interface
- Integrated air dryer and air filtration references in the system design
- Nitrogen storage tank
- Automatic cut-in and cut-out pressure control
- Alarm and status monitoring
- Sensor logging and graphing functions
- Optional BlastOff leak detection
- Indoor nonhazardous installation
Typical installation profile
These models are designed for indoor installation in a nonhazardous area. They should be installed in a location that allows access for maintenance, troubleshooting, and piping connections while minimizing unnecessary pressure drop.
These are floor-mounted cabinet systems intended for larger fire protection applications.
Utility profile
- 120 to 240 VAC / 50-60 Hz / 1 phase power
- Less than 5 amps draw
- Built-in 20A over-current protection device
- Hard-wired electrical connection required
- Power cords are not included
- UL 508A ICP certification
Air supply notes
- Incoming air should be maintained between 40°F and 100°F.
- Water dew point should be less than 40°F.
- Incoming air pressure is typically 100 PSIG minimum and 125 PSIG maximum unless otherwise configured.
- Incoming air should be set to the design air-in pressure in order to meet purity and flow expectations.
Fire protection application notes
These models are part of the N2-BLAST fire protection product line and are intended to support corrosion prevention in dry and pre-action sprinkler systems through high-purity nitrogen generation.
Before choosing a manual or procedure
Confirm the exact model number on the unit nameplate before following a procedure or ordering service parts. While these models share a common platform, always use the article or document that matches the specific model family when available.
