The BeerBlast™ and N2-GEN™ product lines are South-Tek Systems' nitrogen generation systems designed for draft beverage service in restaurants, bars, and breweries. Each model uses Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology to separate nitrogen from compressed air and supply it — alone or blended with CO2 — to pressurize kegs and beverage lines.

BeerBlast™ models include an integrated McDantim™ dual-output gas blender that precisely mixes N2 with CO2 at 60/40 and 25/75 ratios (±2%). N2-GEN™ models produce nitrogen only and do not include a gas blender.

▲ AttentionAll CO2/N2 blend ratios are factory set and are not field adjustable. Do not attempt to modify the blender or the internal control timing. Doing so will void the warranty.

ℹ NoteThe 14KPH-HO operates at significantly higher storage and CO2 inlet pressures than all other BeerBlast models. It also uses a different annual filter kit (FRP-005) and includes two air compressors. Do not substitute FRP-001 on this model.

How the System Works

All BeerBlast and N2-GEN models use the same core PSA process. Ambient air — which is approximately 79% nitrogen — is drawn in and compressed by an integrated oil-free compressor. The compressed air passes through particulate and coalescing filters to remove moisture and contaminants before entering the PSA beds. The beds cycle alternately between adsorption and regeneration, allowing high-purity nitrogen to pass through to the internal storage tank. When the storage tank reaches the cut-out pressure, the system enters Standby mode automatically. When pressure drops back to the cut-in threshold, it restarts. No manual intervention is required during normal operation.

On BeerBlast models, the generated nitrogen feeds into an integral McDantim™ dual-output gas blender along with CO2 from an external customer-supplied source. The blender produces two simultaneous outputs at factory-set ratios: 60% CO2 / 40% N2 and 25% CO2 / 75% N2. N2-GEN models output nitrogen only.

Controller Types

The 1KPH and 3KPH use a simple pressure switch with indicator lights — green for Run, amber for Standby, red for BlastOff alarm. There is no digital display and no filter timer on these models.

The 7KPH, 14KPH, and 14KPH-HO use a Panasonic FP-e PLC with a digital display that shows run hours, system status (Run / StdBy), and alarm codes. These models include a filter change timer that triggers a "FILtr" alarm at 1,000 hours and must be manually reset after filter replacement. BlastOff™ Leak Detection

All models include the patented BlastOff™ Leak Detection System as standard. BlastOff monitors downstream gas lines from the generator to the kegs and triggers an alarm if it detects characteristics consistent with a line leak. On 1KPH and 3KPH models, the alarm activates a buzzer and red indicator light. On 7KPH, 14KPH, and 14KPH-HO models, the display additionally shows an alarm code. N2 Backup Cylinder

All models support connection of an external N2 backup cylinder on Port 4 (N2 Out). The backup cylinder bypasses the generator and feeds the storage tank and blender directly during a power outage or generator issue. Backup cylinder regulator pressure requirements vary by model — refer to the Installation article for your specific model before connecting a backup supply.
