General Safety Requirements
All personnel involved in the installation, operation, and maintenance of BeerBlast™ and N2-GEN™ systems must comply with safe working practices, OSHA regulations, and all applicable local health and safety codes. Only authorized, trained, and competent individuals are permitted to install, operate, maintain, or repair these systems. Unqualified personnel must not attempt repairs.
These systems are intended exclusively for beverage dispensing applications including beer, coffee, wine, tea, and other mixed drinks. The system must be kept out of splash zones at all times. Do not use this equipment for any purpose outside its intended design. Do not tamper with or experiment with the equipment, and do not exceed its published technical specifications.
Asphyxiation Hazard
Generator exhaust gas and any venting gas must be directed to the outside or to a large, well-ventilated area. Completely isolate incoming and outgoing pressures and depressurize the relevant section of the system before performing any mechanical work, including filter changes.
Pressurized Gas Hazards
- Never allow pressurized gas to exhaust from an unsecured hose. An unsecured hose can whip violently and cause serious injury. If a hose bursts during operation, immediately close all isolation valves if it is safe to do so, then power down the unit.
- Never disable or bypass any safety relief valve. All relief valves are ASME-stamped and are in place to protect against component failure.
- Never detach a pressurized gas line before closing the isolation valve on that line. Always shut off the valve and remove the tap from the keg before changing or servicing gas lines.
- Do not remove filter bowls until the system is fully depressurized. Confirm zero pressure on the downstream gauge before loosening any filter housing.
Electrical Safety
- Always disconnect the system from supply power before performing any electrical work.
- Turn the power switch to the off position and unplug the external power cord from the building supply before servicing the unit.
- Do not modify the internal control program or timing. Doing so will void the warranty and may create unsafe operating conditions.
- The system is UL 508A ICP approved. Do not substitute non-factory electrical components.
Personal Protective Equipment
- Wear safety glasses any time the cabinet door is open while the system is operating.
- Use hearing protection when the equipment is running.
Parts and Maintenance
- Always use South-Tek Systems approved replacement parts. Replacement parts must meet or exceed the original specification.
- Use of non-factory filters or parts may cause permanent system damage and will void the warranty.
- Follow the maintenance instructions in the applicable filter replacement article for your model. Do not substitute filter kits across model families.
Installation and Storage Requirements
- Install the system indoors only, in an upright position, within the ambient temperature range specified for your model.
- Do not install near heat sources or in areas where steam or water is present.
- Do not place or stack objects on top of the cabinet.
- Keep all gas lines dry prior to connection so that moisture does not enter the generator.
- Do not connect AC power until the full installation procedure has been completed and all connections have been verified.
- Plumb condensate drain ports to a suitable floor drain or collection point. Failure to do so creates a slip hazard.
If You Detect a Problem
If the system exhibits a fault or condition that cannot be resolved using the troubleshooting articles in this Help Center, do not continue operating the unit. Power down the system and contact South-Tek Systems support before resuming operation.
