Overview
Mikropor has introduced a software change for its refrigerant dryers (model range MK 10 – MK 190). The change affects units with serial numbers up to P113467462. There is no change to the hardware of these dryers, but the controller software has been updated to include an encrypted start‑up procedure. When a unit is switched on for the first time, the controller now displays an STR alarm. This alarm must be reset using a one‑time passcode; once the correct code is entered the alarm will not appear again during the life of the dryer.
How the STR alarm appears
When the dryer is powered on, the controller cycles through three messages: the dew‑point temperature, a three‑digit start‑up encryption code, and the message “STR” (Start‑Up Warning). These messages are shown below:
The three‑digit “crypto code” displayed on the controller must be used to obtain the passcode that will reset the alarm.
Flyers included with your dryer
Mikropor ships every affected dryer with flyers in English and Turkish explaining the STR alarm and how to obtain the passcode. The English flyer is reproduced below:
The flyer summarises the process:
- Scan the QR code or visit www.myintegratedfilter.com.
- Select “Start‑up My Dryer” at the top left of the site.
- Enter your name, email and mobile phone number.
- Enter the serial number of the dryer and the 3‑digit crypto code shown on the controller.
- Click “Get your passcode”; the passcode will appear in a pop‑up window and can only be retrieved once.
Website passcode screen
After selecting “Start‑up My Dryer” on the website, you’ll be asked to provide the required details and retrieve the passcode. The passcode screen looks like this:
Resetting the STR alarm
Once you have retrieved the passcode from the website, follow these steps to reset the STR alarm. Each step corresponds to a display on the controller.
-
Unlock the controller – Press and hold the SET button for four seconds until “Loc” appears on the display. This indicates the keylock is active.
-
Deactivate the keylock – Continue to hold SET until “UnL” appears. This means the controller is unlocked and can be programmed.
-
Enter the service menu – Press the down arrow for about four seconds until the display shows “Pb1”. This is the service menu.
-
Select the COD parameter – Use the arrow keys to scroll through parameters until “Cod” appears. Press SET to enter the parameter.
-
Enter the passcode – Enter the passcode obtained from the website, starting from the right‑most digit. Use the arrow keys to adjust each digit and press SET to confirm each one.
-
Wrong code indicator – If the passcode is entered incorrectly, the controller will display “E01”. You must re‑enter the code.
- Completion – When the correct code is entered, the STR alarm disappears and the controller returns to the main screen. The start‑up alarm is a one‑time event; once reset, it will not appear again.
Changes and unaffected features
Only the software of the controller has been modified; all physical aspects of the dryer remain unchanged. Specifically:
- Unaffected: There is no change to the dryer’s dimensions, performance or part codes.
- Changed: The controller’s software now requires an encrypted start‑up code.
Summary
The new start‑up procedure introduces an encrypted STR alarm that appears the first time an affected Mikropor refrigerant dryer is powered on. By visiting www.myintegratedfilter.com and using the dryer’s serial number and the three‑digit crypto code displayed on the controller, operators can obtain a one‑time passcode to reset the alarm. Following the steps above will clear the STR alarm and allow normal dryer operation without any further alarms.
