The BrewBlast™ product family is South-Tek Systems' line of on-demand nitrogen generators designed for nitro cold brew coffee, beer, wine, and specialty beverage dispensing. Each unit generates nitrogen from ambient air, eliminating the need for bulk nitrogen cylinders at the point of use.
This article provides a family overview and model comparison. Use it to identify your unit before navigating to model-specific installation, operation, or maintenance articles.
How It Works
Atmospheric air is approximately 79% nitrogen. BrewBlast™ generators separate nitrogen from oxygen using one of two technologies, depending on the model:
- Membrane separation (110CPH): Compressed air is forced through a hollow-fiber membrane. Oxygen and moisture permeate through the membrane wall and exhaust to atmosphere; nitrogen passes through to the storage tank. Simple, quiet, and compact.
- Pressure Swing Adsorption — PSA (40PPH, 70CPH): Compressed air passes through dual molecular sieve beds that selectively adsorb oxygen. The beds cycle automatically, regenerating while the other is in production. PSA delivers higher purity nitrogen and longer media life than membrane designs.
In both designs, an integrated oil-free compressor supplies the air, and an internal storage tank buffers demand so the generator cycles on and off rather than running continuously.

Identifying Your Model
The model designation is printed on the front panel label of the cabinet. The three models are visually distinct:
- The 110CPH is a floor-standing unit on caster wheels with a toggle switch and analog indicator lights on the front panel. It is wider than it is deep.
- The 40PPH and 70CPH are taller, narrower wall-mount cabinets with a digital display and PLC-based controller on the left side panel. Both share the same enclosure and are visually identical.
Safety Summary
All BrewBlast™ units produce nitrogen at low flow rates. While nitrogen is non-toxic and non-combustible, it will displace oxygen in enclosed spaces. The following requirements apply to all models:
- Install only in a well-ventilated room with normal air exchange to the surrounding space.
- Maintain at least 6" of clear space on ventilation sides of the cabinet.
- Do not install near heat sources or in environments where steam or standing water may be present.
- Power down and disconnect from supply power before performing any service.
- Only qualified technicians should perform installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Never bypass or disable safety relief valves.
