Commercial Units
Fire Protection Systems
Commercial Fire Protection Systems are warrantied against defects in workmanship and materials for 24 months from the date of shipment, or 2,000 run hours, whichever occurs first, unless an extended warranty was purchased. This coverage applies to the following models:
FPS-500 • FPS-900 • FPS-1650 • FPS-3250 • FPS-5000 • FPS-10000 • FPS-16500 • FPS-22500
Fire Protection Accessories & All Other Commercial Products
Fire Protection accessories, and all other commercial products — including Commercial Lab, Transmission Line, and Beverage systems — are warrantied against defects in workmanship and materials for 12 months from the date of shipment, or 1,000 hours, whichever occurs first, unless an extended warranty was purchased.
Commercial Warranty Terms
- The purchaser is responsible for fully inspecting the system upon delivery and must contact the appropriate shipping company to file any claims for goods damaged in transit, within that carrier's policies.
- If the system is received with defects that are not due to shipping, a claim must be submitted to South-Tek Systems within one week of receiving the shipment. South-Tek Systems may deny all other claims at its discretion.
- Any work performed by an unauthorized person or company, or the use of non-factory parts, may void all warranties on the product.
- Any item not manufactured by South-Tek — e.g., external compressors — may carry its own warranty from that manufacturer and will be warrantied by that manufacturer.
- All parts to be returned must be announced in advance. Any item returned to South-Tek Systems without an RMA number (return authorization number) may be denied and returned to the sender.
- Contact the factory for RMA numbers prior to return shipment. Claims should be directed to support@southteksystems911.zendesk.com.
- South-Tek Systems is not liable for damages caused by normal wear and tear, water, fire, erosion, corrosion, explosion, misuse, oil/gas vapors, or unauthorized modifications. South-Tek Systems is also not liable for any losses (including CO2), damages, or costs of delays, including incidental or consequential damages. There are no warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, including the warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose or use, other than those expressed herein.
Industrial Units
Generator Warranty Coverage
Industrial units are warrantied against defects in workmanship and materials based on the type of startup performed:
- Onsite startup: 2 years from the date of startup.
- Virtual startup: 12 months from the date of startup.
Startups are documented by South-Tek field or remote support technicians and kept on file; the documented startup date establishes the beginning of the warranty period. If a startup is never scheduled, the warranty defaults to 12 months from the date of shipment. Coverage applies unless an extended warranty was purchased.
Industrial Warranty Terms
- The purchaser is responsible for conducting a thorough inspection of the unit upon delivery. Any claims for goods damaged in transit must be made directly with the shipping company in accordance with their policies.
- If the unit is received with defects unrelated to shipping, a claim must be submitted to South-Tek Systems within one week of receiving the shipment. Claims should be directed to support@southteksystems911.zendesk.com. South-Tek Systems reserves the right to deny claims at its sole discretion.
- The factory warranty is contingent upon (a) the use of OEM replacement parts and consumables, and (b) adherence to the manufacturer's recommended Preventative Maintenance schedule(s).
- Any component not manufactured by South-Tek Systems — such as external compressors, boosters, or dryers — may carry its own warranty from the respective manufacturer and will be subject to that manufacturer's warranty terms.
- Customers must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from South-Tek Systems before returning any parts. Items returned without an RMA number may be denied and returned to the sender.
- South-Tek Systems shall not be liable for damages resulting from normal wear and tear, water, fire, erosion, corrosion, explosion, misuse, or unauthorized modifications; nor for losses, damages, or costs of delays, including incidental or consequential damages. There are no warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, other than those explicitly stated herein, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose or use.
Shipping and Evaluation on Warranty Returns
To keep warranty service moving smoothly, please review the following before returning a unit or part.
Freight Coverage
On valid warranty returns, South-Tek Systems covers standard domestic ground freight both ways. For international, air, or expedited shipments, warranty coverage applies up to the equivalent standard domestic ground cost; any amount beyond that is the customer's responsibility unless your sales agreement specifies otherwise.
No-Fault-Found Evaluations
All returned units are evaluated by our service team. If no defect in workmanship or materials is found — for example, when the issue is traced to site conditions such as incoming power, ambient temperature, installation, consumables, or misuse — the return is not covered under warranty. In that case, the customer is responsible for round-trip freight and a diagnostic evaluation fee. We document our findings and share the suspected cause so you have a clear picture of what was observed and how to resolve it on site.
