The South-Tek N2-GEN™ CPi-Plus & CPx-Plus Series are Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) nitrogen generators designed for commercial lab environments. They share the same physical platform and filter hardware as the standard CPi & CPx Series but feature a full-color touchscreen controller, trending graphs, sensor calibration, configurable alarms, and optional capabilities including data logging, Ethernet/Modbus communications, duplex operation, and staging. The series covers four models in two form factors.

Standard Features
Full-Color Touchscreen PLC — The integrated touchscreen displays system status, nitrogen purity setpoint, tank pressure, run hours, and historical trending graphs. It provides access to sensor calibration, alarm configuration, pressure cut-in/cut-out settings, maintenance valve controls, and system information. All programs are proprietary and password-protected from the factory.
Air Compressor (CPi-Plus models) — An oil-free integral compressor with an engineered dampening system. Includes a pre-filter on the air intake; replace every 1,000 run hours or 1 year, whichever comes first.
Air Filters — CPi-Plus models include two post-compressor filters: a 5-micron particulate and a 0.1-micron coalescing, both with auto-drains. CPx-Plus models include three filters: 5-micron particulate, 0.01-micron coalescing, and 0.003-micron activated carbon absorber.
PSA Adsorption Beds — Carbon molecular sieve (CMS) vessels separate oxygen from compressed air to produce nitrogen. Each bed includes a safety relief valve and pressure gauge.
Pressure Transducer — Provides analog pressure feedback to the PLC for precise cut-in/cut-out control and tank pressure trending.
N2 Storage Tank — On 4CP-Plus models, an internal tank with manual ball valves and gauge. On 2CP-Plus models, an external tank is required.
Automatic Cut-In/Cut-Out — The system enters Standby when the tank reaches the cut-out pressure and automatically restarts when pressure drops to the cut-in pressure. Setpoints are factory-configured and should not be adjusted without contacting South-Tek Systems.
Optional Features
Oxygen Analyzer — Continuously monitors nitrogen purity in the storage tank. Two types are available: a galvanic cell sensor (for purities of 99.5% or lower, reading in % O2) and a zirconium oxide sensor (for 99.9%+ purity, reading in parts per million). Alarm setpoints are configured via the touchscreen.
Duplex — Links the PLCs of two nitrogen generators to operate as a coordinated pair, meeting higher flow demands than a single unit. Features automatic primary/secondary switching based on configurable run-hour thresholds. Requires inter-unit wiring. See the Controls & Operation article for setup details.
Staging — Creates a redundant system from two generators, with one running as primary and the other on standby. Automatically switches roles after a configurable number of run hours, balancing usage and eliminating downtime during planned maintenance. Requires inter-unit wiring.
Data Logging — Records sensor data (pressure, flow, purity, temperature) to a micro SD card in CSV format for analysis in Microsoft Excel.
Ethernet / Modbus TCP — Enables remote access via PC software, SD card access over the network, and Modbus TCP/IP integration. Requires a static IP address assigned to the controller.
