The South-Tek N2-GEN™ CPi & CPx Series are Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) nitrogen generators designed for commercial lab environments. They produce nitrogen on demand from a compressed air supply, delivering purities from 95% to 99.999% as factory configured. The series includes four models in two form factors, differing in column count and compressor arrangement.

ℹ NoteThe "i" suffix denotes an integral (built-in) compressor. The "x" suffix denotes an external compressor supplied by the customer. The "2" and "4" denote the number of PSA column pairs. 4CP models house the N2 storage tank inside the cabinet; 2CP models require an external storage tank plumbed per the general arrangement drawing.

Key Components

Air Compressor (CPi models only) — An oil-free integral compressor with an engineered dampening system to reduce vibration and noise. Includes an air intake pre-filter; replace every 1,000 run hours or 1 year, whichever comes first.

Air Filters — CPi models include two post-compressor filters: a 5-micron particulate filter and a 0.1-micron coalescing filter, both with auto-drains. CPx models include three filters meeting ISO Class 1 standards: a 5-micron particulate, a 0.01-micron coalescing, and a 0.003-micron activated carbon absorber.

PSA Adsorption Beds — Pressurized vessels containing carbon molecular sieve (CMS) that separate oxygen from compressed air to produce nitrogen. Each bed includes a safety relief valve and pressure gauge.

PLC Controller — An integrated programmable logic controller manages valve timing and sequencing. The 7-segment display shows run hours, run mode, and alarm status.

N2 Storage Tank — On 4CP models, an internal storage tank with manual ball valves and gauge is plumbed to an external ball valve. On 2CP models, an external storage tank is required and connected per the general arrangement drawing.

Automatic Cut-In/Cut-Out — A built-in pressure switch signals the PLC to enter Standby mode when the storage tank reaches 65–75 PSIG. The generator automatically restarts when pressure drops 7–10 PSIG.

BlastOff® Leak Detection (optional) — Triggers an audible alarm and displays "bōFF" on the controller when it detects characteristics of a system leak. Can be wired to a dry contact for BMS integration.

Pressure Transducer (CPx models only) — Provides analog pressure feedback to the PLC for more precise cut-in/cut-out control.
