This virtual startup process applies to South-Tek fire protection nitrogen generator systems in the FPS-500, FPS-900, FPS-1650, FPS-3250, FPS-5000, FPS-10000, FPS-16500, and FPS-22500 model families.
Once installation is complete and you are ready to commission your new nitrogen generator, South-Tek will schedule a virtual call by phone or Microsoft Teams to guide you through startup and confirm that the system is operating properly.
During the virtual startup, our technician will assist with the following:
- Installation review to verify the system is installed correctly and identify any required changes before startup.
- Compressor commissioning, including completion of the factory warranty registration form for CAS compressors when applicable.
- Initial system fill instructions to help ensure the system is placed into service correctly and in accordance with NFPA requirements.
- Nitrogen generator commissioning, including switching the system from bypass to normal operating mode, completing the initial tank fill, and confirming proper generator operation.
- APS purge setup to help ensure each purge device is configured correctly for the associated zone or system.
- Power Saver Manifold setup, if applicable, including zone setup, zone testing, and enabling startup mode to help prevent premature purity alarms.
- Operation and maintenance training, including preventative maintenance requirements, general system operation, PLC navigation, parts identification, and proper use of the handheld analyzer to check purity at the APS.
After the virtual startup is complete, South-Tek will provide signed startup documentation for the compressor and generator. These documents serve as proof of startup completion, warranty commencement, and confirmation that the system was reviewed by a factory-trained technician.
