The South-Tek LABTEK™ TYP2M is a compact, self-contained PSA nitrogen generator designed for commercial lab environments. It produces nitrogen on demand from a compressed air supply and requires no electrical connection — operation is entirely pneumatic and mechanical. The system has no user-adjustable settings; all parameters are factory configured for reliable, trouble-free operation.
The TYP2M series includes two models that differ only in nitrogen flow rate. Both models share the same cabinet dimensions, operating principles, and installation procedure.

How It Works
The LABTEK™ TYP2M uses Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) to separate nitrogen from compressed air. The system draws from the compressed air supply line and continuously fills the nitrogen storage tank. When the tank reaches the factory-set storage pressure, an internal pressure switch automatically closes the supply valve — conserving compressor capacity and extending the service life of the nitrogen generating media. When nitrogen is drawn from the tank and pressure drops 10–15 PSI below the setpoint, the pressure switch reopens and the system resumes filling automatically.
There are no electrical components, no PLC, no display, and no alarms. The system operates silently and autonomously once commissioned.
Filters & Service
The LABTEK™ TYP2M includes three air filters — particulate, coalescing, and absorber — that must be replaced on a staggered schedule. Annual filter replacement kit part number: FRP-008. Because the system has no electronic controller, there is no automated filter alarm; replacement intervals are calendar-based only. See the Filter Maintenance article for the full schedule and procedure.
All internal settings are factory configured and must not be changed in the field. Adjusting any regulator without the proper diagnostic equipment will affect nitrogen purity and flow performance and may damage the system. Only factory replacement parts supplied through South-Tek Systems or an authorized distributor may be used. Use of substitute parts may void the warranty.
