FPS-650 and FPS-1250 Legacy Overview – South-Tek Systems

This article applies to legacy South-Tek Systems N2-BLAST FPS-650 and FPS-1250 fire protection nitrogen generators.

The FPS-650 and FPS-1250 are legacy N2-BLAST fire protection nitrogen generators designed to provide high-purity nitrogen for fire protection system supervision. These models were used to help reduce corrosion in fire protection piping by replacing oxygen-rich compressed air with nitrogen.

How these systems operate

These legacy models operate in two normal states: Run and Standby.

In Run mode, the unit is producing nitrogen and feeding it to the storage tank.
The system enters Standby mode when the tank is fully pressurized, typically around 65 to 75 PSIG.
The system remains in standby until tank pressure falls by approximately 7 to 10 PSIG, then it returns to run mode automatically.
