Receiving & inspection
The unit ships in a carton on a pallet. Inspect it on arrival, before it is moved to the install location, and record what you find.
▲ Attention — Freight damage Check for shipping damage before accepting the delivery. Note any damage on the freight paperwork and photograph it. If you find concealed or visible damage, open a support ticket promptly so it can be documented with the carrier.
Check the following at receiving:
- Inspect for any damage from shipping or handling.
- Verify the compressor nameplate matches the intended working conditions and your order.
- Verify the electrical motor nameplate matches your available power and electrical supply. Record the model and serial number for your service file.
- Confirm the unit is filled with oil.
- Confirm the intake filter is installed.
- Confirm the purifier cartridge is installed.
The unit's data plate carries its key ratings. Record the model and serial number for your service file, and refer to the plate when contacting support.
Unpacking & handling
⚠ Warning — Lifting The W3 weighs approximately 1,760 lb. Lift only in full compliance with applicable codes. Inspect the entire lifting and rigging setup and confirm it is rated for at least the net weight of the unit. If using a forklift, verify the truck's rated capacity and space the forks adequately. Keep the load low to the ground while moving.
- Remove the packaging and move the unit to the install area with a forklift, pallet jack, or two people using the carry handles.
- Set the unit down on a flat, level surface with all feet in contact with the floor.
ℹ Note — No special foundation The frame is equipped with anti-vibration shock mounts, so a machine base or special anchoring is not required. The floor still must be flat, level, and able to bear the unit's weight.
Long-term storage (over 6 months)
If the unit will sit idle for more than six months, prepare it as follows to prevent internal corrosion:
- Store in a dry, clean, sheltered indoor area.
- Remove the dust cap from the inlet port, if fitted.
- Twice a month, run the unit about 15 minutes to lubricate internal parts. If running is not possible, turn the pulley by hand instead. Skipping this can corrode internal parts.
- Check for leaks at fittings, hoses, tubes, filters, and valves.
- Shut the unit down while still warm.
- Release internal pressure at the drain valves (if a manual drain is fitted).
- Turn off power at the main switch.
- Fit a dust cap at the intake port to keep out dust and fumes.
Returning to service after storage
Before restarting a unit that has been in long-term storage:
- Wipe the unit clean with a clean cloth.
- Install a new intake filter.
- Replace the purifier cartridge with a new cartridge refill kit.
- Open any intakes that were capped during storage.
- Check the oil level and confirm there are no leaks or sweating at connections and gaskets.
- Run the unit and verify there are no leaks before returning it to normal service.
