This article covers the preventive maintenance schedule, user-serviceable filter replacement procedures, and factory service requirements for the N2-GEN™ HPC Deployable. Filters (F0, F1, F2) are user-serviceable in the field. Booster, membrane, and compressor service must be performed at South-Tek Systems' facility by certified technicians.
Maintenance Schedule
| Interval | Equipment | Action | STS Part # | Service Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 250 hours or 3 months | All filters (F0, F1, F2) | Visual inspection — no replacement | N/A | Field |
| 500 hours or 6 months | F0, F1, F2 (all filters) | Replace all filter elements | HPC-M-02 | Field |
| 1,000 hours | Booster | Seal reseal service | HPC-M-01 | South-Tek facility |
| 5,000 hours | Nitrogen membranes (×2) | Replace membranes | 101519 (qty 2) | South-Tek facility |
| 8,000 hours | Air compressors (×2) | Replace compressors | 103313 (qty 2) | South-Tek facility |
Filter Kit — HPC-M-02
Kit HPC-M-02 contains all elements required for the 500-hour filter service: two pre-compressor inlet air filter elements (F0), one particulate filter element (F1), and one coalescing filter element (F2).
Before Replacing Any Filter
Complete these steps before beginning any filter replacement:
- Toggle the main power switch to the OFF position.
- Unplug the system from its power source.
- Confirm both pressure gauges read 0 PSIG before accessing any filter housing. Filter enclosures may be hot immediately after operation — allow time to cool if necessary.
F0 — Inlet Air Filters (Pre-Compressor)
There are two F0 inlet air filters, one for each internal compressor. These are the first line of filtration and protect the compressors from airborne debris.
Inspect: Every 250 hours or 3 months, whichever comes first.
Replace: Every 500 hours or 6 months, whichever comes first.
To replace the F0 filters:
- Power off and unplug the system as described above.
- Twist the top cap of each air intake filter housing counterclockwise to remove.
- Remove the filter cartridge and visually inspect. Replace with the new element from the HPC-M-02 kit.
- Reinstall the cap in reverse order.
F1 — Particulate Filter
The F1 particulate filter removes solid particles from the compressed air stream downstream of the compressors.
Inspect: Every 250 hours or 3 months, whichever comes first.
Replace: Every 500 hours or 6 months, whichever comes first.
To replace the F1 element:
- Power off, unplug, and confirm 0 PSIG as described above.
- Press the filter bowl lock button down and twist the bowl counterclockwise until it pulls free of the housing.
- Twist the plastic filter element casing counterclockwise away from the filter housing and remove the element.
- Install the new element from the HPC-M-02 kit along with the new bowl O-ring.
- Lubricate the O-ring and bowl seals before reinstalling.
- Reinstall the bowl in reverse order, confirming it is fully seated.
F2 — Coalescing Filter
The F2 coalescing filter removes water and oil aerosols from the compressed air stream.
Inspect: Every 250 hours or 3 months, whichever comes first.
Replace: Every 500 hours or 6 months, whichever comes first.
The F2 replacement procedure is identical to the F1 procedure above. Use the coalescing element included in kit HPC-M-02. Lubricate all seals and O-rings before reinstalling the bowl.
Factory Service Items
The following maintenance tasks require returning the system or components to South-Tek Systems' service facility. They must not be performed in the field.
| Interval | Item | Part # |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 hours | Booster seal reseal | HPC-M-01 |
| 5,000 hours | Nitrogen membrane replacement (×2) | 101519 |
| 8,000 hours | Air compressor replacement (×2) | 103313 |
Returning Equipment for Service (RMA)
Before shipping any equipment to South-Tek Systems for service, you must obtain a written Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. Contact the service department with the system model number and serial number to initiate the process. No items will be accepted for service without prior written authorization.
When returning equipment, use the original packaging material if available and pack securely for safe transport. South-Tek Systems is not responsible for damage incurred during transit. Damage resulting from failure to package correctly will be the sole responsibility of the customer.
HPCD Life Cycle Maintenance Program
South-Tek Systems offers a Life Cycle Maintenance program for HPCD units. The program is designed to support pre-deployment and post-deployment refurbishment, ensuring the equipment is mission ready when it matters most. Rather than managing individual component repairs in the field, the entire unit is returned to South-Tek's facility where it is inspected, serviced, and returned to operational condition.
What Is Included
Every Life Cycle Maintenance service includes the following as standard:
- Full filter kit replacement (F0, F1, F2)
- Booster refurbishment
- Any applicable engineering revisions
- Inspection, documentation, and service history logging
Additional repairs identified during inspection will be addressed as needed based on the unit's condition and run history.
How to Initiate a Life Cycle Maintenance Request
Download and complete the RMA Customer Submittal Form, then submit a ticket through the South-Tek Systems Zendesk portal to begin the process. South-Tek's service team will issue an RMA number and coordinate logistics for unit pickup.
⬇ Download RMA Customer Submittal Form
When completing the form, include the following:
- Command name, contact name, and phone numbers
- Email address and company information
- Unit serial number (part number is HPCD-01)
- Command shipping address and country FBO
- Photos of the inside and outside of the case
The unit must be returned to South-Tek within 60 days of RMA issuance, accompanied by a printed copy of the completed form inside the shipment. Once serviced and returned to operational condition, the unit will be shipped back to the customer. All service history is documented and logged on the service data tag inside the unit.
RMA Terms & Conditions
- Mark the RMA number on the outside of the packaging before shipping.
- Do not include any fittings, accessories, or power cords with the unit.
- The Life Cycle Maintenance program covers preventive maintenance only. Damage outside the scope of the program will require diagnostics before any additional work can be quoted.
